So my son has this project....

He has to make an Election '08 folder....

listing candidates and platforms and facts about candidates and qualifications and cartoons and all kinds of crap.....

and let me tell you....

I have learned more about the election than god wanted me to know...

Truly.....

Like did you know that there is Prohibition Party?

I did not....

Let me tell the platform of the Prohibition Party...

The Prohibition Party

  • The commercial sale of alcohol and harmful drugs should be banned

  • The commercial gambling should be abolished

  • The commercial pornography should be banned

  • The Homosexual agenda should not be encouraged

  • The Right to Life should be encouraged

  • The Bible Reading should be made mandatory in the Public Schools

The Prohibition Party raises its voice on several domestic issues. These issues include the tax reformation, Ballot Law reformation, judicial reformation, finance reformation, upholding the Genuine Constitutional rights, restoration of State and Local rights. They also campaign strongly against judicial activism. They call for local control of schools, balanced Federal budget. The Prohibition Party also addresses foreign issues. They are in favor of US sovereignty. They are also concerned about International Trade Agreements, the role of the United Nations.

Now I dont remember what site we found this on but their were lists like this for every party....

Is wine considered alcohol? How bout margaritas? Cause I can live without some beer...but I need my wine and the occasional margarita....

Would this mean no more Texas Hold Em? Would this mean no more dominoes? OMG would this mean no more CANASTA for a penny a point?????? NOOOOO....please dont take away my only joys....

Margaritas with peach - cheap wine and a deck of cards are just about all i have since I turned 40....that and the knowledge that my sunday school teaching music leading southern baptist momma drinks her wine and beer in a plastic cup so no one will know ;) shhh...thats a secret....lol...she buys it out of town too so noone that she knows will see her.....lol...

There are several things on that list that I agree with but there are also several things I do not agree with......

He waited (of course) until 10 pm (when he supposed to be showering and goign to bed) to tell me that Checkpoint # 2 was due in the morning 1st period...

My first instinct was to let him stay home in the morning...lol...but I didnt...

Then I remembered...my printer if broken...

Then I remembered Husband is still at work and has access to a printer ;) ...

So I emailed him and VOILA...

Checkpoint #2 is complete...

The project complete is due on October 30th.. :)

KC says she is goign to wait until it is finished to decide who to vote for :)

I already know :)

I enjoyed your post and I know what you mean, sometimes they can get carried away prohibiting some of the smallest pleasures. I vote we keep Domino's and margaritas!
