Day 6 {Your day}

Day 6 {Your day}

**i made this post on time but forgot to publish it - silly me**

Today was a long day..
I got up - got Austin up..
took him to school..

came back home...
packed up some food..
and headed over to the hospital..
My niece Ashlea
[actally Waynes cousin but the age difference makes her more like a niece]
is in the hospital here in Dallas...
Ashlea was diagnosed with RA about a year ago
She is only 26..
in January - she started having trouble breathing...
They changed her meds....
didnt help...
steadily got worse....

This past weekend they were going to do a lung biopsy...
which would have required her to be put on life support...
They did a lung scope first and when they did
they perforated her lung (i think that is the term)
when then in turn caused BOTH lungs to collapse
and internal bleeding...

They then transferred her to UT Southwestern Medical Center here in Dallas
She was on a respirator when Wayne and I went on Saturday..
They took her off the respirator day before yesterday....
which of course is wearing her out...
She needs the respirator to rest..
She needs to rest to heal...
but they need to run tests while she is breathing "normally"

It's never ending....

Her mom, Wayne's aunt, is there with her and wont be leaving until Ashlea leaves the hospital...
Her friend Tiffany is there also - she wont be leaving either...

I took them some good home cooked food...
a big container of beans and hamburger meat
with cornbread muffins...
&
a pasta salad with grilled chicken..
enough to last them a couple days so they dont have to live off cafeteria food....

Ashlea's friend Tiffany has started a CaringBridge site to keep everyone updated...
Go by and check it out...

Leave her a note and let her know you are thinking of her and praying for her...

The rest of my day? pretty normal...

laundry...dishes...carpool...cooking dinner...more laundry....more dishes...
watched some TV on my dvr...
STILL watching TV on my dvr :-)
